I’m a runner and a dad, so I think I qualify to put this post together for all those running dads out there who are always spotting running gear they could use or just really want.

The practical dad thinks he can run in the same pair of worn out running shorts forever.

Some dads dream of that Garmin watch but never quite pull the trigger on it because there are just other things that come first. I can relate to those ways of thinking so when Father’s Day comes along, us runner dads would love nothing more than to be surprised with a running gift we may never buy ourselves.

So here’s a chance to delight the runner dad you love with a few gift ideas in a range of budgets.

Runner Dad T-Shirt

Let dad know he’s cool — for a dad.

Nothing says, “we love you dad” more than a silly runner dad t-shirt. Still, he’ll wear it proudly because you just can’t deny that running dads are like regular dads only cooler!

Race Bib and Medal Display

Show Off Dad’s Running Achivements in Style.

A handcrafted forged metal frame that holds up to 28 medals and 20 race bibs. It includes all mounting hardware and a step-by-step installation guide, making it easy to showcase dad’s running achievements.

LMNT Electrolyte Drink Powder

Salty, hydrating and delicious!

Warning: This stuff is salty but as summer heats up, dad is going to need to rehydrate after his long summer runs. As hydration solutions go, LMNT is at the upper price range, but it’s well worth it when you’re in the heat and losing a lot of fluid from sweating.

LMNT is a zero-sugar, high-sodium electrolyte mix designed to replenish essential minerals lost during intense workouts. Each packet contains 1000mg of sodium, 200mg of potassium, and 60mg of magnesium, making it ideal for training, low-carb or keto diets, and fasting.

Road ID Shoe Tag

Personalized, always on ID for the love of dad.

Road iD makes it easy to stay safe while out for a long run or during a race. While they offer ID bracelets and other ways to wear the ID, I’ve found the shoe based ID the most convenient way to make sure you can be identified should an emergency occur.

These tags are super durable. Mine has lasted years without any degradation to the velcro or stainless steel id tag.

Goodr Sunglasses

Cool shades for a cool dad.

Goodr makes really affordable, no-slip, polarized sunglasses that combine performance with fun styles. They offer UV400 protection and are designed to stay put during vigorous activities, making them perfect for runners.

TriggerPoint Grid Foam Roller

Foam rolling goodness dad will appreciate.

A good foam roller is part of any good post run recovery toolbox. This compact, multi-density foam roller is ideal for muscle recovery and relieving tightness post-run. Its patented design helps improve muscle recovery, flexibility, and circulation.

BALEAF Men’s Running Shirt – Quick Dry

Moisture-wicking and comfortable.

Dad may have a drawer full of those “free” shirts you get when you sign up for a race. But as a runner, you really can’t have enough moisture wicking and comfortable running shirts. BALEAF makes good running gear at a fair price.

Made from quick-dry fabric, this running shirt is suitable for various athletic activities.

BALEAF Men’s 5″ Running Shorts

Don’t sell dad short.

Quick-dry athletic shorts featuring a zipper pocket, offering comfort and functionality for daily runs. They come with built-in mesh briefs for a supportive fit and multiple pockets for convenience.

Father’s Day Gifts to Really Splurge on Dad

Bestway SaluSpa Inflatable Hot Tub

Let dad soak his cares away.

A portable hot tub featuring 180 soothing AirJets and a digital control panel, offering relaxation after intense runs.

I’ve had this model for over a year and use it just about every day. It’s easy to set up and maintain and for the price you just can’t beat it for value.

You’ll need to run it daily to maintain the 100-104 degree sweet spot and your electric bill will go up a bit, but after a long day at work or a long run, it’s well worth the investment.

Garmin Forerunner 965 GPS Running Watch

A great gift for a dad who’s dedicated to running.

The Garmin 965 is one of the best GPS watches for runners. It not only tracks running but swimming, cycling and triathlons. The OLED screen is bright and brilliant in any lighting conditions. The battery life is impressive, lasting about a week for me even with running 6 days a week.

Peleton Treadmill with Auto-Incline Options and 24” HD Touchscreen

The ultimate in interactive treadmill technology.

Last but not least, this high-end treadmill offers interactive workouts and a sleek design, bringing the gym experience home.

The Peloton Treadmill features a large HD touchscreen and access to live and on-demand classes. You’ll leave dad speechless when you surprise him with this one.

That’s it. Happy Father’s Day to all my fellow running dads out there.
